About Nalmera

Two complementary careers. One shared mission.

Nalmera brings together two leaders who have spent their careers addressing the same challenge from opposite sides of the cell-therapy journey: how to transform scientific breakthroughs into treatments that can actually reach patients.

Our Story

Where science and execution meet

Prof. Alejandro Madrigal

Co-Founder — Chief Medical Officer. Science & Clinical Leadership

Professor Madrigal has dedicated more than three decades to hematology, stem-cell transplantation, immunotherapy and cellular therapy. He founded the Anthony Nolan Research Institute, served as President of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, and was recognized with an OBE for his contributions to hematology, transplantation and cancer research.

Today, his work continues to focus on developing advanced therapies and expanding access to them in Mexico and internationally.

Ignacio Núñez

Co-Founder — Chief Executive Officer. Manufacturing & Operations

Ignacio has spent his career building the operational systems required to manufacture advanced therapies reliably, safely and at scale. His experience includes leadership roles at GE, Novartis, Johnson & Johnson, Kiromic and CellReady, as well as direct involvement in the manufacturing and launch of Kymriah - one of the first commercially approved CAR-T therapies.

His expertise covers GMP manufacturing, quality systems, facilities, supply chain, technology transfer and high-throughput operating models.

Their shared conviction

"CAR-T should not remain accessible only to a small number of patients in a few wealthy markets."

Alejandro understands the biology, clinical pathway and responsibility involved in treating patients with advanced cellular therapies. Ignacio understands how to build the manufacturing, quality, supply-chain and operational infrastructure needed to deliver those therapies consistently. Their paths came together around a shared conviction - and Nalmera was the result.

Why Nalmera was created

Nalmera was created to close the gap between discovery and delivery. The science already exists. The next challenge is to create a delivery model that is clinically rigorous, operationally reliable and economically sustainable.

The company combines the full spectrum of capabilities required - rather than building an isolated laboratory or importing an expensive foreign model, Nalmera develops the complete system required to move a therapy from scientific concept to clinical and commercial execution.

Medical and scientific leadership
Clinical-program design
CAR-T manufacturing expertise
GMP quality and regulatory readiness
Facility and supply-chain integration
High-volume, lower-cost operating models
A repeatable platform for introducing additional therapies

Our vision

Our initial focus is Latin America: establishing privately-public funded CAR-T platforms capable of serving patients across the Americas while creating a rapid pathway for future therapies.

The longer-term vision is broader: to build a global network where advanced therapies can be implemented locally, manufactured efficiently and delivered safely - without compromising scientific quality or patient care.

What We Stand For

Our values

Access as a right

Life-saving therapies should not be limited to patients in wealthy countries or elite medical centers. We exist to change that.

Integration over advice

We don't hand over a strategy and walk away. We embed alongside our partners and execute — every workstream, every milestone.

Rigor without rigidity

Clinical-grade quality and GMP compliance are non-negotiable. But implementation must adapt to local realities. We hold both.

Long-term sustainability

Programs that depend on perpetual external support aren't programs - they're projects. We build for independence.

Transparency

Complex programs require honest communication. We tell partners what they need to hear, not what they want to hear.

Patient at the center

Every decision — regulatory, financial, operational — is ultimately evaluated against one question: does this help patients get treated?
